Summer 2017 passed so quickly the fall foliage is once again beautiful and flocks of geese are flying south. The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting an early winter with snowiest periods in early and mid-to late December, mid-January, early and mid-February and early March! Chris Tomer, the On the Snow meteorologist, is predicting 100% of normal snowfall for Vail. Looks like we may all be hitting the slopes and snowshoe trails early this year.
With over 700 members, the essence of VC50 is the cadre of volunteers who step up and make all of our social and sport activities a reality – every season, every year. Many thanks to each of you. We had a very successful summer season of social events and sports activities.
Jim Tharp and the 2015-2017 BOD passed the reins onto the next board members at the President’s dance on August 22nd. A lot has been accomplished to include launching this new club management website that will make the job easier for future BOD members. Thanks to all those “seasoned” volunteers for their commitment and welcome to all new members.
I look forward to serving as your President and working with the BOD for the next two years. I’ll see you on the slopes, on the dance floor and on the snowshoe trail very soon.
